Educational expertise as prestige: research-intensive curriculum change

Institution-wide curriculum change is a costly, time-intensive and politically fraught undertaking. It challenge identifying who has responsibility for the empowered to it. The unbundling of traditional tri-partite academic role teaching, research service leaves gap in those communities decides what features curriculum. Using discourse analysis documentation, this paper analyses experience departments research-intensive institution undergoing holistic, large-scale review. Departments engaged varying degrees, with associated integration educational disciplinary perspectives. Landscapes practice are used explore different within coming together, or not, process. acknowledgement appreciation expertise alongside research-based knowledge highlighted as marker successful adoption review intentions. This contributes underdeveloped field higher education.
